Eight suspended MPs end protest over suspension from RS
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Eight suspended MPs have ended their protest in Parliament premises over their suspension from the Rajya Sabha. The protesting MPs from Congress, CPI (M), TMC and Aam Adami Party were on dharna from yesterday when they were suspended from the House for the entire Monsoon Session for their unruly behavior.
This morning, when the Rajya Sabha met, Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad announced that they will boycott the sittings until the suspension is revoked. Later, members from Congress, Left, TMC, DMK, SP, RJD, AAP and others joined the protesting members in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue for a while. Earlier, Deputy Chairman Harivansh met the protesting members and offered them tea.
Yesterday, eight members were suspended from the Upper House for their unruly behavior with the Deputy Chairman Harivansh during the passage of two farm Bills. They are Rajiv Satav, Ripun Bora and Nazeer Hussain of Congress, Derek O’Brien and Dola Sen of TMC, K.K. Ragesh and Elamaram Kareem of CPI (M) and Sanjay Singh of Aam Adami Party.
