Leaders pay homage to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on his 130th death anniversary

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: A number of political leaders from Maharashtra including Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, state Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar among others paid homage to social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on his 130th Death Anniversary today.
 
In a tweet message Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said Mahatma Phule was a great social reformer who fought for the rights of women and the downtrodden. 
 
Paying rich tributes to Phule, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said he was a great revolutionary who empowered the masses to live with dignity by emphasizing the importance of education. He said Phule brought an ideological social revolution for taking the society out of the bondage of ignorance, superstition, untouchability, caste and religious discrimination.
