Nearly 30 pc voting in Hamirpur in first four hours
HAMIRPUR [Maha Media]: Around 33 per cent voters have casted their votes for the Panchayati raj institutions elections in the Hamirpur district by 12.00 P.M, four hours after the starting of the polling today. Sujanpur block was leading the table with 35.95 per cent followed by Nadaun block 34.59 per cent, Hamirpur block 34.10 per cent, Bamsan block 33.81 per cent, Bhoranj block 33.13 per cent and Bijheri block 33.07 per cent.
Union Minister of state for Finance and corporate affairs, Anurag Thakur, his father and former HP Chief Minister, PK Dhumal and their family members cast their votes at Samirpur polling station of the Bhoranj block and mingled with the general masses. Deputy Commissioner, Debashweta Banik said that the response of the people was encouraging and they were coming in large numbers to cast their votes. The polling will end at 4.00 P.M but will be followed by polling for the people suffering from COVID-19.
