Prez, VP pay tributes to Swami Dayanand Saraswati
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: President Ram Nath Kovind paid tributes to Swami Dayanand Saraswati on his birth anniversary. In his message, Mr Kovind called Swami Dayanand Saraswati a beacon of Indian renaissance and nationalism that began in the 19th century.
He said Swami Dayanand Saraswati is honoured as one of the leading nation-builders of India because of the social, educational and religious reforms led by him.
Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu also paid his tributes to Swami Dayanand Saraswati on his birth anniversary today. Mr Naidu said that Swami Dayanand Saraswati was a great social reformer, eminent thinker and the founder of Arya Samaj. Mr. Naidu said that Swamiji dedicated his life towards empowering women and fought relentlessly against social evils like child marriage and untouchability. Mr. Naidu said that Swami Dayanand Saraswati's lasting contribution to this great nation will always be remembered.
