Road named after Sushant Singh Rajput in south Delhi
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: On late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s birthday on Thursday, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) announced to name a road after him. The road, 'Late Sushant Singh Rajput Marg', has been named in Inder Colony adjacent to Defence Colony police station.
While Inder Colony is a slum area, Congress councillor Abhishek Dutt argues that the reason for choosing this particular road was because of the zeal SSR's movie 'M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story' created amongst the youth of the area.
Dutt also claimed that the decision to rename the road was taken after a discussion by all political parties, including BJP and AAP. He said there is no political reason behind the naming of the road after the late actor.
The Bihar administration had in July 2019 renamed a road after Sushant in his hometown Purnea. The ‘SSR Road’ goes from Madhubani to Mata Chowk SSR road.
Sushant’s was found dead in his Bandra apartment on June 14, 2019. His death had led to a huge political slugfest between the governments of Maharashtra and Bihar.
