I Am Very Grateful For Padmashri Says Kangana Ranaut
MUMBAI [Maha Media]: Actress Kangana Ranaut along with Singer Adnan Sami, Suresh Wadkar and director-producers Ekta Kapoor and Karan Johar have been conferred with the Padma Shri award this year.
The four celebrities have been honoured with the Padma Shri for their contribution to the field of performing arts.
Talking about being honoured with Padma Shri, Kangana Ranaut shared a video post. She is seen saying, “I am so very grateful to the government of India, who has honoured me with Padmashri Award. I am grateful to all those friends and people who have been sending me congratulatory messages and good wishes. And I am grateful to all my fans who have supported me and reach where I am today, without their love and support it wouldn’t have been possible. Jai Hind”
Karan Johar took to Twitter to express his emotions. "It's not very often that I am at a loss for words, but this is one such occasion...The PadmaShri. Such an honour to receive one of the civilian awards in the country. Overwhelmed by so many emotions right now. Humbled, elated and also thankful for the opportunity to live my dream every day, to create and to entertain. I know my father would be proud and I wish he was here to share this moment with me. #blessed."
Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian award in India. This year 141 Padma awards are being given in the fields of art, social work, public affair, science and engineering, medicine, trade and industry, literature and education, sports, civil service, etc.
While the Padma Shri is awarded for distinguished service in any field, Padma Bhushan is awarded for distinguished service of high order and Padma Vibhushan is for exceptional and distinguished service.
Meanwhile on the work front, Kangana is currently enjoying the success of recently release Panga, which is directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.
Next she will be seen in Dhaakad and portray the politician Jayalalithaa in the trilingual biopic Thalaivi.
Thalaivi is directed by A. L. Vijay and produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh under their respective banners Vibri Media and Karma Media And Entertainment. The story is about the life of J. Jayalalithaa, late politician and film actress who served as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, with Kangana Ranaut playing the role of Jayalalithaa.
