165 MBBS seats incr ease in medical colleges
BHOPAL [Maha Media]: THERE is good news for the medical aspirants as Government has given its final nod to increase the MBBS seats. Total 165 seats in various medical colleges have been increased for the MBBS course.
While Gandhi Medical College (GMC) Bhopal and GMC, Indore has increased 70-70 seats, Rewa Medical Colleges has enhanced its 25 seats for MBBS. After increasing the seat intake, GMC and MGS would have 250-250 seats and Rewa Medical College would have 150 seats.
National Medical Commisison (NMC) has given its nod for raising seat intake.
Expenses of the enhanced seats will beared by Centre and State Governments - 60% and 40% respectively. Officials of Gandhi Medical College said, construction work in the campus is pending for months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
They said, “Committee had finalised the construction work and contract was also given to the contractor concerned but due to COVID-19lockdown, construction work could not get started. In such circumstances, medical college was expecting poor response from the visiting team for seat increment.
However, the team visited the campus and allowed seat increment which brought laurels to the medical aspirants. Colleges will be allowed to admit students from this session on increased seats.
