2nd round of RTE admission to begin on Aug 4
BHOPAL [Maha Media]: After concluding the first round of admission in private schools under Right to Education (RTE), second round is set to begin from August 4.
Rajya Shiksha Kendra (RSK) Director Dhanraju S informed that applicants are allowed to update their school choice from August 4 to 11. Further seats will be allotted to the candidates on August 14 based on online lottery. Students will be asked to confirm their admission on allotted seats from August 16 to 25. Schools have been asked to submit detail report of admission to RSK by August 25. A notification regarding the same has been released to all district collectors and project co-ordinators. Dhanraju S said that applicants having registered in first phase of admission and verified their documents at centres are allowed to participate in the second counseling round.
Applicants can make changes in school choice only. Applicants who were not allotted school in first round or applicants who did not confirm admission in first phase even after allotment are also allowed to participate in the second round.
This year, admission is being held for two sessions including 2020-21 and 2021-22. A notification regarding the same was already released by RSK. This year private schools will be admitting students for two separate sessions. Admissions on 25 per cent quota seats of unaided private schools under RTE are mandatory. Schools have been asked to provide entire admission process and details on Under RTE provision, it is obligatory for Government to provide free and compulsory elementary education to children up to Class 8 in India.
No child is liable to pay fee or any other charges that may prevent him from pursuing elementary education. This also includes provisions of textbooks, uniforms, stationery and special educational material for children with disabilities in order to reduce the burden of school expenses.
