Another chance for failed students of Class IX and XI
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Students of Class IX and Class XI who have failed in their examination will be given another opportunity to clear their papers. They will have to appear for the tests conducted by their respective schools.
Union Human Resources and Development minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Thursday announced this measure taken by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Tweeting a letter written by CBSE to the schools, Pokhriyal said, "In view of unprecedented circumstances of Covid-19, I have advised all CBSE schools to provide an opportunity to all students, who have failed in IX and XI to take online/offline tests."
This opportunity will have to be extended by all schools, irrespective of the exam results status.
The notification issued by the board said, " Schools can conduct online/offline/innovative tests and may decide promotion on the basis of the tests. This test can be taken for all subjects in which students have failed. Before holding the test, schools will give sufficient time to students to prepare."
This is an effort to relive students from stress and anxiety in time of the pandemic.
