Bhopal: Over 1.77 lakh students get RTE seats

BHOPAL [Maha Media]: A total of 1, 77, 440 students in Madhya Pradesh were allotted seats under Right to Education quota for academic session 2021-22, the lottery for which was held on Thursday.

The lottery was held in presence of state school education minister Inder Singh Parmar.

According to information, a total of 1,99,741 students had applied for admission in class-1 under RTE quota across the state. Nearly 28,000 application, however, were rejected in document verification process.

A senior officer of Rajya Shiksha Kendra said that nearly 2 lakh applications were received against 2.84 seats reserved under RTE quota. “The application process began on June 10. Earlier, the last date for verification of documents was fixed till July 1, but we extended it till July 12. Nearly 28,000 applications were rejected, as parents could not provide proper documents to avail seats under RTE quota,” said a senior officer.

He further said that messages had been sent to all parents regarding allotment of seats. The allotment could also be seen through the mobile App of the Rajya Shiksha Kendra, the officer said.

Notably, 25% seats are reserved in every private school for economically weak people under RTE.
