BU first sem examination commences in offline mode

BHOPAL [Maha Media]: Barkatullah University (BU) has started offline examination of University Teaching Departments (UTDs) for the first semester students. 

Examination time has been decided from 12 noon to 3 pm. Centres of all students will be UTD. All Head of the Departments (HoDs) have been appointed as exam centre incharges. The university has already started PG third semester examination in offline mode from January 10. Though students opposed the conduct of offline exam but they appeared with 99 per cent attendance in exam. After gap of almost 2.5 years, students have written offline exam at centers as for past two years, open book exam was being held amid the pandemic. There are about 18 thousand students registered to appear the exam. The exam will be concluded on January 31. 

There are 117 exam  centers in seven districts. The university has added examination centers to follow social distancing. In order to follow Covid protocols, university has arranged additional 15 examination centres. On an average 100 students will be writing exam at each center. 

BU has completed its UG first and third semester examination under UTD in offline mode successfully. Though students were opposing offline exam mode but when exam began, students were present with 100 per cent attendance. UG exams were held from January 3 to 10. 

Besides, examination of first semester students will be concluded on January 21 Department of Higher Education (DHE) has also notified to conduct only offline exam for UG and  PG students. After this order students are in dilemma and several demonstrations have been carried out by NSUI and students. Many students have raised their voice against the decision and said to arrange online exam for them.

In its notification, the DHE has said that college exams will be held in offline mode with social distancing and other safety protocols.
