The board in its release stated “As you are aware, incidents in some schools across the country have highlighted the need for a safe and secure learning environment for all children.

Violence in schools has severe consequences in learners’ lives, ranging from low self-esteem and depression, with many students avoiding school, achieving below their potential, or dropping out completely.

So the issue of school bullying, the most prevalent form of violence in schools, which affects almost one in three learners, and impacts education and well-being outcomes requires immediate attention.

Commemoration of International Day against Violence and Bullying In light of the above, UNESCO is commemorating International Day against violence and bullying (including cyber bullying) at school on November 5 under the theme ‘ Together against Bullying in school’.” Schools can visit official website, select resources and conduct sessions for students and teachers, and post videos/photos of these online activities on social media tagging UNESCO New Delhi.
