BHOPAL [Maha Media]: Colleges in Madhya Pradesh are likely to reopen by end of November under certain safety measures.
State-level plan, including standard operating procedure (SOP), for the same is being prepared.
Officials of DHE said that preference will be given to open the lab and practical work colleges in first slot.
UGC and AICTE have also released guidelines for reopening of campuses with proper safety protocols. However, colleges in Madhya Pradesh are waiting for final nod of Government.
Association of Technical Professional Institute (ATPI) has also written letter to DHE and universities and said that other states have started classroom teaching.
UGC said that generic preventive measures appropriate behaviour in campuses should be mandatory to reduce the risk of COVID-19.
Physical distancing of at least 6 feet to be followed as far as feasible, use of face masks to be made mandatory, frequent hand washing with soap, even when hands are not visibly dirty, use of alcohol-based hand sanitisers, respiratory etiquettes to be strictly followed.
This involves strict practice of covering one’s mouth and nose while coughing, sneezing with a tissue, handkerchief and disposing of used tissues properly. As the universities and colleges are likely to face a number of issues at the time of reopening, they will be required to plan in advance.
