Engineering, polytechnic colleges in UP not to hike fees
LUCKNOW [Maha Media]: In a major relief to students and parents amid the pandemic, the state government on Tuesday decided that private and aided engineering and polytechnic institutes cannot increase fees for 2021-22 sessions. Nearly 6.5 lakh students will be benefited by the decision.
"The fees will remain same as it was in 2020-21 session due to the pandemic," said secretary technical education, Alok Kumar.
He said students enrolled in 750 engineering colleges across the state under the technical education department and 1,247 polytechnic institutes attached to the technical education council will benefit from the decision. The current fee structure was decided by the state government for three years in 2017-18. The fresh order has extended the existing fee structure for another year.
