Girls outshine boys in UP Board exam results

LUCKNOW [Maha Media]: Uttar Pradesh Secondary Board on Saturday announced the results of High School and Intermediate exams 2020 and again girls outshined the boys.

In high school board exams, the overall pass percentage was 83.31. The pass percentage of girls who performed better than boys was 87.29 while that of boys was 79.88 per cent.

In the intermediate board, the overall pass percentage was 74.63 in which the girls pass percentage was 81.96 per cent and that of the boys was 68.88 per cent. However, in both the categories, this year the pass percentage was around 3 to 4 per cent higher. In 2019 exams, the high school pass percentage was 80.07 per cent and intermediate was 70.06 per cent.

The result was announced here by Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma along with officials of the secondary education department. Ms Riya Jain topped the High School with 96.67 mark while in the intermediate Anurag Mallick stood out with 97 per cent mark.

Interestingly, both the toppers were from the same Shree Ram S M Inter College, Baraut in Baghpat district.
