IGNOU extends admission date to November 30

BHOPAL [Maha Media]: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Bhopal, has extended the application date for one year courses by November 30 in view of COVID-19 pandemic. 

The university officials said admission date has been extended so that students do not face inconvenience in process amid the pandemic. There are many students who did not receive their final  exam marksheet too. 

Regional  Director U C Pandey said that admission date has been extended so that maximum students can participate the admission process for session July 2020. Entire admission process is online and students do not require visiting the centers. He said that all admissions are being provided on provisional basis as many students did not get their result of last exam yet. 

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the examination process of all educational institutions in the country has been affected and the declaration of result has been delayed. 

In order to provide relief to such aspiring students and in keeping with the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), IGNOU has decided to grant provisional admission. Applicants, who have  applied for various academic programme of the university in July 2020 admission cycle, will be granted provisional admission subject to certain conditions. 

All applicants who are provided provisional admission shall be required to submit the pass certificate of the qualifying examination latest by December 31, 2020, failing which their admission shall be cancelled and the fee will be refunded as per rules.
