MP: B.Ed seats to remain vacant

BHOPAL [Maha Media]: After several rounds of admissions, around 3.5 lakh seats of National Council for Teacher’s Education (NCTE) programme are still vacant in colleges. Department of Higher Education (DHE) has conducted three rounds of counselling and one additional counselling round to fill up the seats. There were only 26 admission including 14 in B.Sc-B.Ed and 14 admissions in BA-B.Ed in additional counselling round. 

There are zero admissions in B.El.Ed and B.Ed in this additional counselling round. There are total 83,872 seats in nine programmes of NCTE out of this 70,595 seats have been confirmed. There are 47,551 admissions only in B.Ed while other 8 programmes have only 6,321 admissions. However, students having seat allotment in additional round can confirm their seat with fee submission by October 25.

In previous three rounds of counselling 70,595 seats were allotted for nine programmes of NCTE out of which 53,872 admissions have been confirmed with fee submission. Highest numbers of seats have been allotted for B.Ed as 11,103. In all round there are 1,14,040 registrations held via online mode for admission in NCTE courses. This was the additional college level counselling conducted by DHE on demand of students. In this round numbers of applicants were higher than available seats. DHE has allotted seats to the students as per merit list. Sources said that DHE would be giving another chance to the colleges to fill their vacant seats on college level counselling. However, final order regarding CLC is yet to be released by officials.
