MP: BU colleges to ensure enrollment of students by Dec 30

BHOPAL [Maha Media]: Department of Higher Education (DHE) has sent data of freshly admitted students in UG and PG programme of 420 private and Government colleges affiliated to Barkatullah University (BU) in seven districts of Madhya Pradesh. 

After receiving the data, BU has uploaded the same on its portal. College principals are asked to verify the details of students and submit enrollment fee of students to BU. Colleges have been asked to complete formalities by December 30. After given time period, principals will be charged penalty from their own pocket. 

Earlier, students were responsible to confirm their enrollment. From this academic session (2021- 22), DHE has given this responsibility to college principals. The university had started enrollment of PG first year private students from December 8. Students are asked to apply for enrollment by December 20. With consent of Vice Chancellor, students can apply for enrollment by December 23 with late fee of Rs 165. Application should be forwarded by the college principal. The university ahs said to conduct offline exam for UG and PG students with 50 percent presence in a hall. As part of reparation for exam, university has started enrollment of students. 

After December 20, students can forward their application by college principal with late fee. Their application will be presented before V-C RJ Rao for final consent. However, students are opposing the conduct of offline exam. Students said that when RGPV is conducting online exam for all colleges, traditional degree colleges should also do for the same. They said new variant of COVID-19 Omicron is now in India and it is risky to appear for offline exam. A demonstration regarding online  exam has been already conducted by NSUI. Students said that their parents are not allowing them to appear for offline exam.
