MP: College admissions for UG, PG programme begins today
BHOPAL [Maha Media]: COLLEGE aspirants have last chance of confirming their admissions in under-graduate (UG) and post-graduate (PG) programme in additional college level counselling that is beginning from Thursday. Department of Higher Education has provided additional counselling opportunity to the students from October 21 to 30. There are around 6.30 admissions confirmed in colleges. DHE has already released notification for increasing seat intake of colleges by 25,000. Students will be allowed to get admission on available seats of 1,301 colleges in state by October 30.
After this, DHE will not be entertaining application of any student. There are around 90,000 students did not contact the concern college even after verifying the documents in previous counselling round. To provide another chance of admission to these students, DHE scheduled additional counselling round. There were 7.86 registered candidates out of which 7.20 verified their documents successfully. There are 4.77 lakh admissions in under graduation programme and 1.53 lakh admissions in post-graduate programme. Earlier, DHE has conducted two main online counselling and one online CLC in which 5.80 lakh UG and PG seats were filled. In this offline CLC, college principals were allotting vacant seats to the applicants as per availability on daily basis. This special offline college level counselling was begun on October 1.
There are over 7 lakh students cleared the class XII exam from MPBSE, CBSE and other boards in state. DHE is making effort to increase gross enrollment ration (GER) of higher education by admitting higher number of students in colleges.
