MP: Half-yearly exams in Govt schools in Nov

BHOPAL [Maha Media]: The half-yearly examinations of Class IX to XII will begin in Government schools from November 29. 

Question papers will be set up on district-level. Officials of School Education Department said that this year board exams would begin from February and ending by March. Therefore, it is important to conduct the half yearly exams by December. 

Last year question paper for half yearly exam was uploaded by MPBSE on portal. Photo copy of question paper was distributed among students and open book exam was conducted due to the pandemic. This year all exams will be held in offline mode. The Board has also reduced syllabus of both high school and higher secondary classes by 20 to 30 percent. 

The Board officials informed, this year schools have been reopened from August onwards and exam will be held during the month of February. This year classes of only 140 days will be held in six months while in general session, 230 days classes are must. As this year, numbers of classes are below average, the Board has decided to reduce the syllabus. 

Besides, the Board has also introduced some changes in examination pattern for session 2021-22. There will be 40 percent objective questions in all subjects. A notification regarding the same has been released by the Board. The Board has also uploaded blueprint of the question papers on its portal including the updated syllabus.

In its recent meeting with the examination committee, the Board has decided to reduce the syllabus by 40 per cent and place 40% objective questions that would help students to pass the exam. Earlier, there were 25 percent objective questions in the exam.
