MP: Only 24 admissions in MDS programme in first round

BHOPAL [Maha Media]: Adter concluding first round of admission on MDS seats, only 24 candidates have confirmed their admissions. There were 243 registrations against 264 seats of MDS under NEET counselling. Directorate of Medical Education (DME) expected to see good number of admissions in second round of counseling. 

Officials said that in first round number of admissions are quite low because of maximum students participate the all India counselling. 

After students do not get satisfactory seat in all India counseling, they participate the state  level counselling. There are 37 students chosen seat upgradation option. These students have confirmed admission but they will upgrade seats in second round. 

There are 202 fresh registrations against 175 seats for participating the second round of counselling. In first round seats were allotted to 155 candidates. Second round of seats will be allotted on November 3. Mop up round will begin on November 5 and will be concluded on November 15. In order to fill up the vacant seats, college level counselling will be held from November 16 to 20. 

This year medical aspirants seem to be distracted from dental programme as many seats are going vacant. There are only 243 registrations against 264 available seats. There are 85 applicants belonging to other state but they have been enlisted in first merit list. There is only one Government dental college in state with 14 seats. Students have no other option expect pursuing dental programme in private college.
