MP: UGC seeks details of NRI students

BHOPAL [Maha Media]: Universities across the State will be submitting the details of NRI students of their campus to University Grants Commission (UGC). A data base of NRI students will be prepared by universities and UGC. Universities will be submitting their report of students on local level. However ion past two years, number of NRI students in colleges across state has been declined due to the pandemic. The commission has sent a fixed format seeking details of NRI students. 

One of the oldest universities of state Barkatullah University has currently no NRI student. In previous sessions, there were many NRI students in BU but after the pandemic situation occurred, no NRI admissions were held in Bu. Around three years back, MANIT has around 140 NRI students but currently there is no NRI student in any programme of MANIT. Institute officials said that al;l; NRI students have completed their course and new NRI candidates have not confirmed their admission. Though RGPV would not be reporting to UGC regarding its NRI students but there are 32 foreigners. These students belong to Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh country.
