MP govt, IIM Indore sign MoU
BHOPAL [Maha Media]: A Memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between IIM Indore and Panchayat and Rural Development Department on Friday to facilitate business and trade opportunities for women of self-help groups. Under the signed MoU, it was decided that a Vyapar Kendra (trade centre) will be laid for women of SHGs which will assist them in ensuring quality, branding and sales of their products.
IIM Indore will extend support for laying, operation and facilitation of trade centre. Madhya Pradesh has been always dedicated towards development of women of SHGs. Almost 39,10,000 women are associated with 3,40,000 women SHGs spread across the State. Lack of resources among these groups makes it difficult for them to compete in the market.
The trade centre will bring about a paradigm shift in ecosystem of their products and supplies. It will act as a one stop facility, providing end-to-end business creation and expansion support for their products and services. Areas of cooperation mainly include partnerships for product development and organizing joint courses, workshops, seminars. This business will be run commercially through industry experts, without the intervention of the Central Government. IIMs will help in recruiting experts for this.
