Prez graces convocation ceremony of Patanjali Uni
HARIDWAR [Maha Media]: President Ram Nath Kovind has said that Patanjali University is working towards the goal of making India as a Vishwa Guru by combining Indian tradition with modern science, which has been set in the new education policy. He was addressing the convocation ceremony of Patanjali University in Haridwar today.
Congratulating all the students who got their degrees in the convocation ceremony, he said it is a matter of proud for everyone to come to Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand. He said it is also a matter of good fortune for all of the students to get an opportunity for education here on this holy land.
Referring to the growing influence of Yoga in the world, the President said that Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev has changed the definition of Yoga and today every person is engaged in Yoga in some form or the other. He said that the belief of some people that yoga is associated with a particular sector or a group is wrong. Yoga is a method of keeping the body and mind healthy and it is for everyone.
The President said that the lifestyle based on Yoga makes a person sensitive. He said that today the number of girl students is more than the number of male students taking degrees in this University. Shri Kovind said that it would be beneficial for to establish harmony with nature and use natural indigenous products.
He said today India is one of the few countries in the world that has produced a vaccine to protect against corona and the world's largest vaccination campaign is going on in India.
Congratulating the Corona Warriors, the President appreciated their work. Governor of the State Gurmit Sigh, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Yog Guru Swami Ramdev also addressed the convocation.
