IPL 2020: Rajasthan Royals hope to upset in-form CSK

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Rajasthan Royals (RR) will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the fourth match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. This match will be played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah, and will start today at 7:30 PM IST. This is the opening game for Steven Smith’s Rajasthan Royals side while it’s the second match for Chennai Super Kings. CSK have won their first game against the Mumbai Indians (MI) by 5 wickets. Ambati Rayudu and Faf du Plessis were the stars from the CSK side in the first match.

Rajasthan Royals have roped in many top-class players in the auction table and this time the team looks much balanced than the previous years but in the initial phase, few players can’t be the part of the line-up. Jos Buttler is not available for the opening game due to quarantine restrictions, whereas the star England all-rounder Ben Stokes is at his home country New Zeland because of a family emergency.

Yasashvi Jaiswal, the Indian U-19 star is all set to make his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals in this game. He was the leading run-scorer in this year’s U-19 World Cup and he played some exceptional innings in many domestic games as well. With the likes of David Miller into the side at who is likely to take the command at Number 5 RR middle order looks much more effective than the previous years.

RR bowling department is less experienced but they have the rising names of international cricket like Jofra Archer and Tom Curran as well as Varun Aaron and Jaydev Udnakat. Captain Steven Smith is expected take the responsibility to bat at Number 3 while Miller is all set to take the Number 5 spot where as Sanju Samson is likely to be slotted in at number 4. As we saw in the previous few years, Sanju Samson has done an exceptional job at Number 3, and hence, Smith could give up his spot but the chances of that happening are fairly slim.

On the other hand, the Chennai Super Kings have won their first game against Mumbai comfortably and they will look to seal another victory in this match. They are the team who are completely different when it comes to on paper credibility and performing on the ground. They have qualified for the playoffs in every season they played in.

Talking about the team line-up, MS Dhoni hardly likes to make many changes to a winning combination. CSK, hence, are likely to go with the same team in this match as well. Rituraj Gaikwad, the young star of the Indian domestic circuit is back in the Chennai Super Kings bio-bubble after 14 days and two negative COVID-19 test results but still is availability is uncertain but in case he is available to play then Murali Vijay may have to make a way for him and sit out.
