3 varsities to get regular VC soon
BHOPAL [Maha Media]: Madhya Pradesh Private University Regulatory Commission (MPPURC) is still waiting for a regular chairman while three other universities of State are yet to get ViceChancellor.
Sources said that Government will be finalising the name of MPPURC Chairman and universities VCs before sub-elections. Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCNJUC) to get Vice-Chancellor by the Government while MPPURC and two other universities Vikram Vishwavidyalaya, Ujjain and Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore will get a regular Vice-Chancellor by the Governor.
As State Governor Lalji Tondon is suffering from medical issues, Uttar Pradesh (UP) Governor Anandiben Patel has been given charge of the state. She is former Governor of Madhya Pradesh so she is aware of the activities and issues going on in the state.
Working tenure of MPPURC chairman will be expiring by August and Vice Chancellor incharge of MCNJUC has been transferred as Director General of IIMC, Delhi so the post of Vice Chancellor is lying vacant at MCNUJC.
Besides, process of appointing Vice Chancellor for Devi Ahilya University, Indore has been started. There are 55 applications received for the chairman of MPPURC and scrutiny of applications is continuing. Sources said former DGP, officials of former university association, former vice chancellors, principals and other educationists have applied for the post. Process of Vice Chancellor appointment for Vikram University has been also started.
