Class IX to XII students can participate in ‘Youth Parliament’ programme
BHOPAL [Maha Media]: STUDENTS of class IX to XII can participate in ‘Youth Parliament’ programme to be organised by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs. Objective of the programme is to strengthen roots of Parliamentary democracy, inculcate healthy habits of discipline, develop tolerance of views of others and to enable the student community to know about the parliamentary system of government functioning.
A web portal on National Youth Parliament Scheme has also been developed by Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs to increase coverage of Youth Parliament Programme. All educational institutions can access portal at www.nyps.mpa.gov.in to take part in Youth Parliament Programme.
All educational institutions recognised by Central/State Government of the country are eligible to participate in this programme. E-training modules, videos, photographs and scripts are available on portal for online self-learning of participants. After successful registration, educational institutions can conduct Youth Parliament sittings in their respective institutions.
Each student taking part in the sitting will get a Digital ‘Certificate of Participation’ and Teachers-in-charge and Head of Institution will get a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ through the web portal.
All schools having classes IX to XII are asked to register themselves on www.nyps.mpa.gov.in and participate. The last date for registration is December 31.
