MPBSE examinees in dilemma
BHOPAL [Maha Media]: Class X and XII examinees of Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) are still worried about their exam schedule.
Though in its latest circular, MPBSE and School Education Department said to extend the exams for month of June. A meeting regarding exam of students was called on Monday but final decision could not taken yet.
Officials said that the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic is making conduct of board exam impossible even in June. School Education Minister Indarsingh Parmar said that COVID-19 pandemic is spreading across State and amid such conditions, students lives cannot be put on risk for exams.
Sources said that School Education Department has done its preparation to conduct the exam during month of June. Officials have made mind to conduct the exam in offline mode. In the meeting, officials discussed whether to conduct the exam for class X or give them general grading based on CBSE pattern.
Officials have stated that they are not in support of general grading to students. They said to conduct the exam during month of June or July but mode of exam is yet to be decided.
After CBSE cancelled the class X examination and said to reward general grading to the students, officials of MP School Education proposed same for the state board exams. SED officials are discussing the proposal of general grading to class X students.
Exams of classes IX and XI has been already cancelled and students will be promoted to next class based on half yearly exam and internal assessment. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelled class X board
