School in which Atal Ji studied to be developed as Memorial Model School
GWALIOR [Maha Media]: The school, situated in Gwalior where former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee studied, would be developed as his memorial model school by the Gwalior Smart City Development Corporation Ltd, (GSCDCL) his memorial museum would also be established in the building.
Gwalior Smart City Development Corporation Ltd (GSCDCL) would also set-up a Vajpayee Memorial Museum on the basis of latest digital technology in the Gorkhi Higher Secondary School in the city.
Former PM Vajpayee was born in Gwalior city on December 25 in 1925 and he studied in the Gorkhi school from 1935 to 1938 in classes VI, VII and VIII.
The school building was built by the Scindias, the then rulers of Gwalior state as a royal palace in 1810. The school was setup in 1903 in this palace.
“The school building is important to us due to its historic values and so is Vajpayeeji, so we have taken it to develop as a Model School in the country as well as to set-up a museum of the former PM’s memory,” CEO of the GSCDCL, Jayati Singh informed news agency.
“We have called a tender for renovation, strengthening and beautification of the historic building. The Vajpayee Memorial Museum would be set up on the latest digital technology with the help of Information Technology,” IAS, Jayati also informed
