Varsities to hold final year exams in May
BHOPAL [Maha Media]: Universities and colleges across the State are set to conduct the annual exams of UG and PG students from May onwards. Eight traditional universities in the State have decided to assign 665 exam centres at different locations. Besides, additional co-exam centres will be decided. In each hall, 50 per cent seats will remain vacant to maintain social distancing.
UG final year and PG fourth year students will be appearing at centres to write pen-paper exam while UG first, second and PG second semester exam will be held under open book system.
Earlier, universities scheduled to conduct the exam From April 5 but after witnessing significant rise in Covid-19 cases, Government postponed the same for May. Under graduation third year and Post graduation fourth semester (private and regular) exams will be held via offline mode at assigned centers. Covid19 safety protocols have been released for all universities and colleges including advisory of health department.
There are 4.30 lakh UG and 1.72 lakh PG students to appear at eight universities for writing the exam. UG first, second year and PG second semester exam will be held in open book pattern in June 2021. These students will be writing exams at home and they will be submitting their copies at assigned center. There are 5.33 lakh students for UG first year, 5.25 lakh students for UG second year, 1.35 lakh students for PG second semester registered for exams. Eight Government universities have assigned 665 centers to conduct the exam.
When universities scheduled the exam from April 5, students started demonstrating in colleges and universities. Concerned over the demand of students, meeting was held in which officials decided to postpone the exam for May. Detail schedule for exam has been sent to the universities for further preparation.
